Dear Int-Archers,
Over the next few days you will notice a number of strange and
wondrous changes to Internet Archaeology, lying mostly in our new
design (which also now includes some JavaScript in the navigation
buttons).
This is up and running properly on at least a few pages but the total
changeover (to allow time for double-checking) is likely to
be a fairly slow process, so most areas of the journal should be
regarded as being 'under construction' during this coming week and I thank
you for your patience. If however you notice anything _really_ peculiar
or if you have any difficulties, then please do let me know, it's very
possible that I've missed something!
Your comments or suggestions about our new look would be very welcome, on
or off list and I won't be offended if you say you preferred the old
buttons!
A further new feature can be found in the downloadable RTF file of the
Wickham-Jones and Dalland paper in issue 5. I would really like to hear if
you find this useful. It contains the main body of the excavation
report and its related images (but nothing from the Calmap section or the
flint database for size-related reasons amongst other things) but maybe
this is something that you would like to see utilised again? Perhaps in
certain kinds of papers? Or maybe you wouldn't use it at all feeling that
it defeats the purpose of putting everything on-line? Do tell!
As always, the devil's advocate looks forward to hearing from you... :-)
Judith
