A colleague in Belgium requires help with information about early moves
towards the mechanization of harvesting in early/pre-Ind Rev England (if
any!), especially if they were inspired by readings of Roman agronomists'
manuals that talk about the 'vallus' in Gaul. I know the papers published
about 'Ridley's Stripper' in C19th Australia, which was partly inspired by
the Roman texts. Any further references gratefully received!
