Dear Colleagues,
The October issue of 'European Information' will include an On
Test feature looking at CD versions of Celex. Four products are
being tested: European Law (Technical Indexes), Eurolaw (ILI),
Justis Celex (Context), OJ CD (ELLIS).
Part of the test will involve using each database to answer 'real'
enquiries. If anyone has examples of queries they'd like me to
consider using, I'd be delighted to hear from you. Perhaps there's
something you've struggled with on your own version of Celex; or
maybe you don't use Celex at all and would like to know how
useful it would be for answering a particular type of enquiry.
As always, the intention is to recommend one of the products as
a 'best buy'. Which will it be? Even I don't know yet
For anyone who's missed 'European Information', recent issues
have included articles on: the Pex Report on Information and
Communication in the EU; the Eurotext database; 'Agence
Europe', 'European Report' and 'European Voice'; the role of
commercial publishers vis-a-vis electronic media; archiving
websites; and the Commission Library. Plus: tests of directories
of the EU institutions and abbreviations dictionaries, and product
reviews.
If you have any suggestions for Celex enquiries, have comments
about the journal, or have ideas for articles, please contact me.
Regards,
Eric
