We get the odd enquiry from businesses for this type of information, &
would welcom a source if anyone has one.
However, it does throw up one or two interesting points as to the
legal validity of a translation.
If the translation is required simply for guidance, I can't see any
problem, but if it were to be used as the basis for a legal action
(perhaps under competition law), I think that would be another matter.
Legislation has to be interpreted - could a translation be considered
sufficiently accurate, or open to further misinterpretation? EU
legislation often carries the rider "only the original language
version is authentic" or words to that effect. Is there not a parallel
with national legislation, even if it is the implementation of EU
legislation?
Does anyone know of anyone who has experience of pursuing cases in
foreign courts using translations of the original language
legislation, or is my point hypothetical?
Comments?

Dear colleagues,
Please could anyone let me know if they have a source for English
translations of German and Italian national law which implements EU
laws.
Many thanks
