Keeping syntax and semantics distinct is always a difficult task, and
the DC community has had its share of difficulty doing so. The DC.
notation is a syntactic convention grounded (one might almost say mired)
in the HTML META tag bootstrapping conventions that have been the
primary vehicle for getting early DC implementations off the ground. As
RDF takes hold in the marketplace, as now seems very probably, the
syntactic conventions of that idiom will be adopted. Thus, in RDF, the
XML namespace convention of lower-case token followed by a colon will be
adopted
