I am pleased to announce that the Administration of Critical Geography
Forum has been taken on by a team of "co-owners". These are:
Lawrence Berg ,Massey University, NZ , [log in to unmask]
Moya Kneafsey, University of Coventry, UK, [log in to unmask]
Denis Linehan, University College Cork, Ireland, [log in to unmask]
Pamela Shurmer-Smith ,University of Portsmouth, UK , [log in to unmask]
Adam Tickell, University of Southampton, UK, [log in to unmask]
The idea behind co-ownership is to work towards making the list more
democratic and inclusive. Co-ownership underwrites the notion that the list
is a co-operative venture and mirrors in a practical kind of way the idea that
the list is in fact "owned" by all it subscribers.
In the long term, I hope that co-ownership will offer more people to invest
in the list, by distributing responsibility and by offering more "faces" with
which people can identify. Moreover, in ways which they will now develop
themselves, the new co-owners have an opportunity to strengthen the
environment for discussion, lead or facilitate initiatives, or encourage others to do.
Please support them in anyway you can.
IMPORTANT: The other role of the co-owner involves some basic things like
dealing with error messages, helping people join the list and so on. Adam Tickell
has agreed to do the house-keeping of this nature, thus freeing the other
co-owners of the chore. So any queries you may have about things going
haywire with your email should be directed to him.
FINALLY, I will remain on as a co-owner with the responsibility for
developing Critical Geography Forum Online. The website remains _very_
modest, but there are now several papers and articles on-line. However this is not
something I can, or should do, alone. In the coming weeks I will advertise for
members of the list to join a working party to discuss the shape and form the
website might take. So if you are looking for ways in taking Critical
Geography Forum forward, this could be it. In the meantime check out some
of the current stuff on line

LASTLY co-ownership will be revolved every year, or sooner depending on
circumstances.
