The 1998 Computer Supported Cooperative Work conference will be held in
Seattle November 14-18. The early registration deadline is October 9.
CSCW is a highly selective (<20%) dual-track ACM conference drawing about
700. Doug Engelbart is scheduled to give his ACM Turing Award Lecture as
the opening plenary. William J. Mitchell, Dean of the MIT School of
Architecture and Planning will give the concluding plenary on "The Design
Studio of the Future."
Papers are from MIT Media Lab, GMD, Xerox PARC, Andersen Consulting, CMU,
ATT Labs, Fuji Xerox, etc. Panels include "Mirrors to the Future: New
Interaction Paradigms"; "Everyone is Talking About Knowledge Management";
and "Cooperative Buildings: Integrating Information, Organization, and
Architecture." An expanded Demos program and reception will be a plenary
event.
