Postdoctoral position
Department of Psychology, University of Glasgow
Funding is available for a one-year postdoctoral
position starting October 1st, 1998 in the Psychology
Department of Glasgow University. The research involves
the study of the believeability of real and synthetic
3D human movement. Applicants should have some experience
in either 3D motion perception, biological motion perception,
biological motor control, categorisation and pattern recognition,
or perception of emotion. Although much software has already
been developed, experience in programming with C, C++, matlab,
OpenGL or OpenInventor would be an asset. The laboratory
is equipped with SGI Octane and O2 graphics computers and
a 3D position measurement system (Optotrak, Northern Digital)
as well as a robot arm. There is also a strong collaborative
tie with the Cyberhuman Project of the ATR, Human Information
Processing Research Labs in Kyoto, Japan. The research is
funded by an EPSRC grant and the salary will be 16,927 pounds
sterling.
