Hybrid Intelligent Systems
Making sense of complex data is a key strategic need of industry and an
exciting research area which brings together techniques including neural
networks, genetic algorithms, fuzzy systems, and expert systems.
The Sira/UCL Postgraduate Training Partnership is recruiting high-calibre
PhD Associates to be involved in work on Hybrid Intelligent Systems.
Successful applicants will be registered as full-time PhD students at
University College London and work closely with Sira and the sponsoring
companies who include SmithKline Beecham, Unilever, and Glaxo-Wellcome.
This is an ideal opportunity to undertake research in state-of-the-art
technologies with a direct industrial link. As a PTP Associate you will
receive an enhanced stipend (#11.5k pa tax-free plus allowances) and be
trained in industrial and research practices.
Successful applicants will have a 2.1 or higher degree and good
mathematical
abilities. Software skills will be an advantage. We need to fill the
remaining PTP places by 30th September so a prompt application is
essential.
