One of my concerns with some studies published in this area is that
"experienced" GP's may be compared with junior A+E staff. Little account of
the confounding effect of an untrained vs a trained doctor is made. I think
that this was also a component of the letter Matthew published in the BMJ
following one of the papers from London.
