Dear all: He we go again. I thought that the establishement of trauma
centres was long and buried after Jon Nicholls's paper from Sheffield. It
appears that the luminaries in Stoke want us to go down this very expensive
route despite evidence to the contrary.
I agree enterily that trauma is static or in the decline. What is needed is
for hospital receiving trauma to have a trauma system well geared for the
reception of these type of patients and not a miriad of surgeons doing
nothing.
As an organization we must fight for concepts which have not being proven
to be effective from being implemented.
