Dear friends,
I joined the group a few days ago, and I would like to present myself
(if I may).
My name is Roni Weinstein, I wrote a Ph.D. thesis at the Hebrew U.
Jerusalem, its title is: "The Marriage Ritual in Jewish-Italian
Communities during the Early Modern Time. A Chapter in Social History
and History of Mentality".
I'm rewriting this work now, and it is to be published as a book.
I would like to consult you about two issues:
A. There is a lot of research and publication about marriage rituals of
upper classes in Europe during the medieval and early modern time. But I
did not find enough research about marriage-rituals of popular classes,
in Europe and Italy.
B. I'm writing at the moment a chapter about rumors and gossip. I'm
looking for more works on this subject, either theoretical and
especially historical: the use and the characters of gossip and rumor in
Italy, male versus female gossip, private and political rumor.
Thanking you for any help. Roni.
