History: Western Europe, 1789-1914. The history department of
Georgia State University invites applications for an anticipated
tenure-track assistant professorship, beginning fall 1999.
Britain and Germany excluded. Preference for French or Italian
history, although a comparative and transnational focus will be
welcomed. Instructional responsibilities include undergraduate
courses and a graduate seminar in field of specialization and
first-year level courses in world history. Ph.D. by Spring 1999.
Publications and teaching experience preferred. Send letter of
application, curriculum vitae, transcripts, and three letters of
recommendation by November 14, 1998 to Professor David McCreery,
