Thanks Stu - this could solve the problem but it might also
confuse people - as all metadata is metadata. As I see it the
problem with an event is that it is not a tangible object. We
can either describe an event (metadata) or participate in it.
If we participate we need to know how to get at it or into it
(more metadata).
We need to look to the future where there will be plenty of
networked events that simply do not fit our present conceptions
of `type'. Does anyone know about the small handheld balls
(created at MIT) capable of transferring complex and sensuous
tactile information between people on-line?
