My colleague Andy Powell and myself will be running a half-day workshop on
Metadata at a workshop on Institutional Web Management. Our session is
aimed at university webmasters who are responsible for managing
institutional web services, who are aware of Dublin Core but don't care too
much about discussions of the syntax - they simply want to use tools to
create and manage resource discovery and administrative metadata.
The workshop session will include presentations, group exercises and
hands-on work.
In the hands-on session we'd like to:
o Give demonstrations of service which use metadata, such as DC, in order
to (a) show the benefits and (b) show that people are using DC
o Give demonstrations of metadata management software
I'd appreciate it if you could send me URLs of services and tools which I
could use.
The workshop will take place on 16 Sept. I will send the URL of the
resources produced for the workshop (including the hands-on and group
exercises and the presentations) to this list around then.
Thanks
Brian
