I see your reasoning in applying Taoist perspectives to interpret landscape
behavior. I am not familiar with this study you mentioned regarding the use of
Taoist poetry in landscape studies but it sounds pretty interesting and I'd
love to get the citation. Landscape studies would be an ideal place to expand
this type of inquiry as the relationship between people and nature seems to be
an important theme (I too am no expert on Eastern philosophical traditions).
To be more specific, do you think that its possible (or worthwhile) to use
this kind of approach to examine things like consumptive behavior, the form
and design of material culture, and intra-site spacial patterning?
