The physiotherapists at our facility have conducted a literature search for
the purposes of reviewing our practice with respect to physiotherapy
treatment of Guillain Barre patients in ICU and acute care. There seems to
be very little. Patients from the GBS Society have told us that they found
biofeedback to be helpful. We have also identified ROM as a specific
problem with patients with long stays in ICU and acute care, particularly
since pain limits what they are willing to tolerate in terms of PROM.
I would welcome responses from anyone with good references, experiences or
comments .
Thanks,
