One year contract in the first instance
The Institute for Learning and Research Technology, at the
University of Bristol, is the largest group of its kind in
the UK, with a range of projects including national and
international Internet services, award-winning software
development and innovative academic support services. Its
mission is to be a centre of excellence in the development
and use of new technology in teaching, learning and
research.
A further member of staff is required to join the Technical
Support Unit (TSU) at the Institute. The post holder will
be responsible for dealing with front line technical
queries from the 55 staff within the Institute as well as
providing training, documentation and user support over a
number of software applications. The Institute currently
uses Windows 95, NT Server and NT Workstation - so a good
knowledge of all systems is essential as is knowledge of
the MS Office suite (including Access and preferably Office
97). Experience of any of the following would also be
useful: UNIX, SQL, HTML, CGI/ASP, PERL.
