Student/ Researcher
Digital Learning Environments
We need a graduate student or researcher to work on a short term project
to study the current scope and likely future trends in 'Digital (or
virtual) learning environments'. The project will be primarily
literature and web based and produce a report for
publication and a WWW directory.
We are looking for a graduate with good written communication skills who
is able to work with a minimum of supervision and
preferably who has research experience or an interest in gaining
experience. An understanding of, electronic communication,
information services, or the role of libraries in education would be an
advantage. Good IT skills are essential, especially familiarity with
using and searching the Web. Some knowledge of HTML would also be useful
but training could be provided. A secondment for a semester would be
possible and the post would suit a recent LIS graduate.
The appointee will work in a small project team led by John Akeroyd,
Learning and Information Services, South Bank University and will be
based in LITC, the research and evaluation centre (
http://www.sbu.ac.uk/litc ).
We are looking for someone to start as soon as possible, and the
appointment will be until January or February 1999. Salary is
negotiable.
