JISC Collections Manager: Job Advertisement
The University of Nottingham seeks applications for the position of
Collections Manager, Higher Education Distributed National Electronic
Resource (DNER).
The Joint Information Systems Committee (JISC) of the Higher Education
Funding Councils, through its Committee for Electronic Information (CEI)
is responsible for the creation of a distributed national electronic
resource for the Higher Education community. The CEI's Content Working
Group, chaired by Mary Auckland of SOAS, is responsible for the
acquisition and creation of content for the DNER, and the Collections
Manager will be a key person supporting the work of this Group.
We require someone with knowledge of electronic information resource
provision and service, and previous experience in an information-related
area. The successful candidate is likely to possess a good degree and/or
a relevant professional qualification. We are looking for an
enthusiastic, highly motivated individual, with well-developed personal
communication skills, and able to cope with a heavy and multi-stranded
workload. The work will be extremely varied, and will involve
considerable travel; it will greatly raise your profile nationally.
Secondments will be considered.

The position is graded ALC 4 (a-b). The appointment will be for a
fixed-term of three years, unless extended. Applications should be sent
