Subject: Invitation to the international conference EVA’98 Moscow
Number of pages: 5

Dear Sir/Madam,

I would like to invite you personally and your colleges to take part in
EVA’98 Moscow.

As you know, Electronic Imaging & the Visual Arts (EVA) is a series of
conferences in the frame of EC Project EVA Cluster. The international
event will be taking place for the first time in Russia and in East
Europe. It will be held in the conference hall of the State Tretyakov
Gallery 26 – 30 October 1998.

The conference is organized by VASARI Enterprises (GB) and Centre PIC
(Russia) with financial support of EC (DGIII) and with organisational
assistance from the Delegation of EC in Moscow. The conference theme is
"New Information Technologies in the Cultural Area. Co-operation between
Russia & the European Union". The main idea is to introduce to Europeans
the high cultural and technological potencial of Russia, to introduce to
Russians EC Projects and the Vth frame Programme and to find ways to EC
Projects in IT&Culture for Russian cultural, scientific and
technological institutions. From the Russian side this idea was
supported by the Ministry of Culture, the Ministry of Science and
Technologies and the Ministry of Education.

Working languages – Russian and English, synchronic translation will be
provided.

About 60 papers are collected and the Program is in the process of
designing now. The Conference Proceedings will be published in Russian
(by Centre PIC) and in English (by VASARI).

During the Conference an exhibition of Russian multimedia on culture and
education will be organized, the leading Russian multimedia publishers
are ready to introduce their production. Illustrated Electronic
catalogue of the Exhibition in Russian and English will be published.

Cultural program will include visits to the Museums of Moscow Kremlin,
to the State Tretyakov Gallery, to the Museum of Fine Arts after
A.S.Pushkin.

If you find it interesting and possible to visit Moscow in October to
join EVA’98 Moscow, you must be aware of the information required well
in advance for a visa, namely:

Your name, date & place of birth
A copy of your passport (first 2 pages with photo)
The name of the Russian consulate where you will go for a visa.
Apparently the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will send a personal
invitation to your Russian consulate. Only then can you go and ask for
your visa. If you have any queries, Mrs Brakker will be pleased to
help.
