Bruce,
On the advice of a VRS software specialist, and after listening to the discussion on this list, I've installed Dragon Naturally Speaking Deluxe + SoundBlaster AWE64. And, in order to use this software effectively, my company has upgraded my computer to one which has plenty of memory. I haven't had a chance to "train" the software yet so can't give you any feedback on its actual use but I know many on this list have. FYI, one specialist I spoke to had just been consulting with a large company here who had been testing Dragon vs IBM for several months and had decided to go with Dragon for the company (the version under the Deluxe version I think).

Also, it helps if you can do your own transcription. We've recently purchased Voice Recognition Software and I'll be doing more of my own transcriptions so this (hopefully) should cut down on omissions.
