Salary: Appointment will be made on the Academic-Related salary scale
grade 1 £15,462 -£17,266 pa according to qualifications and experience.

The Open University Library is proposing to extend its Internet resource
management service for teachers and students, to include University
administrators. The aim is to identify resources for institutional
planning activities, produce a comprehensive, searchable and browseable
database of carefully evaluated Internet Resources, initially to meet
the needs of OU Planning Division, and then to extend its use more
widely across the University, and finally, to provide a robust framework
for future maintenance of current awareness.
You will be primarily involved in the identification, evaluation,
cataloguing and indexing of networked resources; liaison with University
administrators; data input into the ROADS software system and some HTML
authoring. Full training will be provided plus there is scope for
personal development.
We are looking to recruit a recent graduate with a good degree in
librarianship, information science or an IT-related subject, appropriate
IT skills (a working knowledge of the Internet is essential), good
interpersonal skills and report writing skills, flexible attitude and an
ability to work independently or as part of a team. Candidates will
have a good understanding of issues relating to libraries and distance
learning.
