Dear Italian studies members,
The poem below is by Giancarla Mursia Re. I have been able to trace some
references to her. I would appreciate any suggestions as to the context
of the poem, which appears in an anthology of poems related to sport,
edited by Giuseppe Brunamontini. I surmise that it may concern cycle
racing as the Collina di Superga in Turn has been part of the route of
the Giro d'Italia. Any ideas?
Collina di Superga
Una campana signhiozza le ore
gił dalla collina e lungo il fiume
(e l'urlo ha fatto vibrare le case)
Spalanca, cielo, una tua porta d'oro
una porta d'oro per farli passare
Cosķ sono andati
(e l'angoscia ha fatto silenti le cose)
Una campana singiozza le ore
gił dalla collina e lungo il fiume.
