MAI-DAY
The Multilateral Agreement on Investment poses a very serious threat to
democracy, human rights, the environment, workers’ rights and developing
countries. It has been negotiated in the OECD for the last three years and
should have been signed in April this year, but it has been postponed and
resistance to it is growing, with grassroots movements springing up
everywhere and a number of major NGOs campaigning actively against it.
A network of anti-MAI campaigners has been set up in Britain, and a
conference organised. Please get involved in both of them, and help to
stop the MAI.
CONFERENCE
19 September 1998
Insurance Hall, 20 Aldermanbury, London EC2. Disabled Access.
The MAI-DAY conference will bring together campaigners and activists from a
wide range of backgrounds, to share information and ideas, and organise a
coordinated UK campaign to stop the MAI.
