Pat,
it's true that you can import tabular data into nud.ist 4 (in ASCII-format), but
then all is part of the index system. You only have nodes in nud.ist 4 - they may
be called CASEDATA or FREE NODES, but in fact they are all nodes. In case you want
to modify a variable value you will become aware of it.
