Hi James,
The physician of your patient ordered ultrasound where - low back,
hip???
In my opinion you can use ultrasound for the back (muscles) if bone
metastases are excluded. As US energy is absorbed nearly completely at
the muscle-bone junction there is no danger of inducing possible tumor
growth in the abdomen. You only have to stay over bone!
