While cruising around I found some interesting projects which are underway
at the moment.
Many of you will have read the Wired article about a time-based indexing
system called Lifestreams. Well it seems they're developing it into a
commercial product at:

Also interesting is a group called The Brain. I must admit I have grave
doubts about a metadata company who puts all their text as images on a web
page though...

Some discussion is underway within the Linux/free software community about
an article (http://slashdot.org/articles/9841112758.shtml) describing what
is dubbed the "liquid file system." This concept is probably something
we're all familiar with, having thought about metadata for some time. Of
course the same old questions are asked but still it's an interesting
read.

anything else is the decadent trappings of civilization.
