I would always regard an injection as a last resort! I have often
seen patients injected by GP's with little real skill in determining
where they should inject and the patient is then left with a painful
injection site as well as the original pain. They also raise false
hope that this will be an instant cure for their pain and lack of
mobility. I would always suggest a course of physical therapy for
long term improvement rather than the short-sighted 'wham-bam' of the
injection.
