Library Strategy Workshop
organised by the Committee on Electronic Information (CEI)

30 April - 1 May 1998
Weston Building, The Manchester Conference Centre

This workshop is aimed at higher education institutions and research council
sites that receive services from the Joint Information Systems Committee of
the Higher Education Funding Councils (JISC). It will cover strategic
issues related to the JISC's Committee for Electronic Information (CEI) and
the services it provides.

The event is designed to provide senior level library management with an
insight into current CEI and JISC issues and an opportunity to inform the
debate. It is concerned with strategic matters and those likely to find it
useful are senior librarians or heads of learning resource centres.

The programme includes presentations and discussion sessions.

This event provides an opportunity for people to meet others with similar
responsibilities, to discuss common issues and exchange ideas, and to
improve the effectiveness of their provision of JISC funded services.

The workshop runs from lunch time on Thursday 30 April to mid afternoon on
Friday 1 May 1998

Venue

The workshop will take place at the Weston Building, The Manchester
Conference Centre.

Delegates will be accommodated in single rooms with private bathrooms.

Programme

The programme will cover a range of current issues and topics. Sessions
will include presentations and in each case substantial time for discussion
will be scheduled. The draft programme is attached.
