I apologise for cross-posting this, but some of you may find the newly
released JISC Circular at http://www.jisc.ac.uk/pub98/c2_98.html
interesting. Released by JISC's Technology Applications Sub-committee
(TASC), it invites bids for small projects in a range of areas, including
authentication, authorisation and privacy; micro payments for electronic
services; watermarking and digital signatures; object identifiers;
content-based image retrieval; making databases available on the web; push
technology; and experience with smart cards (extracting those topics which
may be of interested to those involved in electronic or digital library
research and development).
Bids are to be submitted electronically (yeah, they are smarter... or
braver... or more foolish... than we are!) by 17:00 on Monday 20 April,
1998.
