THE INVESTOR'S GUIDE TO THE AFRICAN STOCK MARKETS
Dear Sirs,
The Investor's Guide to the African Stock Markets, which has been produced by
Professor Antoniou and myself, is due for publication in May 1998.
Over the last three years, we have undertaken a very thorough empirical
investigation into the functioning of the African stock markets. The research
was carried out at the Centre for Empirical Research in Finance, Brunel
University. The markets covered are Botswana, Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast,
Kenya, Mauritius, Morocco, Namibia, Nigeria, South Africa, Swaziland, Tunisia,
Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Our research shows that the African stock markets
have very good potential for growth in relation to other emerging equity
markets.
Having completed the research, we are in the process of disseminating our
findings. Initially, this involved presenting our work to academics and
practitioners investing in emerging markets. The main concern expressed about
the African stock markets by both academics and practitioners is the lack of
information on the workings of these markets. Consequently, we have been
strongly encouraged to publish a non technical book about the African markets,
which will serve as a source of reference and a guide to domestic and foreign
investors, researchers and regulators involved in these markets.
We offer you the opportunity to order the book(s) before 31st March 1998 and
obtain a discount of £20; and we enclose herewith an order form for your
completion. If you wish to buy in bulk to supply your clients, students, etc.
we will be happy to discuss favourable terms with you.
Yours faithfully
Dr Joe Appiah - Kusi
