NEW BOOK!: Members, or your colleagues, may be interested in a
recently published text tackling this key skill area in a reasonably
fresh and accessible way. Though the main 'target' is first year
undergraduate courses, it is already being used successfully by
Advanced GNVQ Business students, and should be useful at A-level..

CONTENTS: As the sub-title suggests, I have tried to integrate
some underlying principles of communication with practical
applications, including a brief review of e-commerce and sections
covering everything from letter and report writing to exhibition
stands and presentations. There are appendices covering CV
preparation and the essentials of spelling, grammar and punctuation.
APPROACH: One of my main concerns was to make the issues seem
relevant and interesting, encouraging a questioning approach rather
than a series of 'cook book' solutions. Case studies include, BT,
Oxfam and Ikea. In addition, there are many practical exercises
for groups or individuals, plus a series of 'discussion points'.
FEEDBACK?: If you decide to take a look at the book, I'd be most
grateful for any feedback / suggestions. Please call me, or email:
