The DSTC is pleased to announce the availability of a
java-based metadata creation tool:
Reggie - The Metadata Editor
http://metadata.net
Key features:
- Registry-based metadata creation tool
- Supports Dublin Core in 5 languages
- Supports GILS, ANZLIC, EDNA, AGLS
- Supports HTML META tags (V3.2 and V4.0)
- Supports RDF
- Online help
The aim of the Reggie Metadata Editor is to enable the easy
creation of various forms of metadata with the one flexible program.
The Reggie Metadata Editor uses a schema file to read in the details
of all the elements in a set, their characteristics and descriptions.
To create metadata based on a different element set or different language,
one has simply to create a new schema file.
Currently supported schemas include:
- Dublin Core (english, german, french, italian, portuguese)
- US Government Information Locator Service
- Australian New Zealand Land Information Council
- Education Network Australia
- Australian Government Locator Service
As it stands, the Reggie applet can export metadata using the HTML 3.2
standard, the HTML 4.0 standard and the RDF (Resource Description Framework)
formats.
The Reggie applet works best on the Version 4 browsers from Netscape and
Microsoft.
To try Reggie, please visit:
http://metadata.net
We would appreciate any and all feedback on Reggie, and
support additional metadata schemas.
Cheers... Renato
