Well, Monday morning, we all need a laugh, but in case anyone took Alison's
comments seriously (the coherent ones at least) I must point out that:
1. The eLib Supporting Study on cultural change, which I managed and which
Alison mentioned, concluded that the library schools should be *more*
directly involved in future eLib-type programmes, since (a) their input to
eLib is vital and (b) so is the reflection of eLib developments in their
curricula. The project's main findings were reported in issue 10 of the Web
version of 'Ariadne', and the full final report should be on the Web (as
soon as UKOLN get around to it :-)
2. It is definitely *not* the view of the IIELR at DMU, where Alison is
currently a PhD student, that library schools should be abolished, or that
subject gateways are no use to users, or that any particular commercial Web
site should be especially endorsed.
Just needed to make that clear.
