Meta2ers
This is a fantastic initiative by Brian. Given that he is publishing this
information in such an accessible form it behoves all of us to do a few
quick tests with the editors of our choice and forward the results to
Brian. We should then develop an extremely valuable resource quite quickly.
One development might be for someone to create a sample test file
containing various formats of metadata which we could then all download and
run through our editors for standardised testing. This would need to
incorporate variations such as:
* repeated elements
* use of different delimiters within contents
* schemes in brackets
* different capitalisations of element names
* empty contents
* escaped characters - eg quotes marks in a title
* different orderings of content, scheme and language elements
* elements in the body rather than the head (I bet some people will do it)
* add your own suggestions - users will be creative so we have to be too
Cheers
