The JISC-funded eLib project, Project ACORN, is holding a series of regional
seminars entitled:
ESTABLISHING AN ELECTRONIC SHORT LOAN COLLECTION:
a "How-to" guide: the costs, the benefits, the issues

Drawing on the experience of Project ACORN, the seminar intends to:
* Outline the costs and benefits of Electronic Short Loan Collections in
comparison to their paper alternatives
* Examine the technical options: file formats; security mechanisms; document
delivery systems.
* Advise on the area of electronic copyright clearance and approaches to
rights holders
* Illustrate the importance of getting, and keeping, your stakeholders on
board, including methods of doing so
* Explore training and promotion issues
* Examine evaluation techniques
Intended audience:
* librarians and other institutional staff who are either interested, or
involved, in establishing an electronic Short Loan Collection at their
institution
Numbers will be limited to 30 per venue
