Hear, hear! I'd like to second (and third) what Sam says.
Different enquiries, different urgencies, different searching styles,
different subject areas, different levels of experience, will all
impact on what is the preferred way to find some piece of
information. The hard part is building links between different
search tools so that, in case of failure, the enquirer is guided to
an alternative place to look.
