regarding Paul's last comment, though I agree that the final line must be interpreted as he (and I) suggested, it is really not necessary to amend the text to <apristi>. Both alternatives show the elision of the verb: (<either you [are] worthy of the name of tyrant &c / or the sky [will be] opened, or [second o reinforcing the first one] Paradise [will appear]>. To peruse the New Vogel is an excellent suggestion: may I add the various Incipitari of the Vatican Manuscripts compiled by Fabio Carboni, and the IUPI (Incipitario Unificato della Poesia Italiana) ed. by Marco Santagata, Bruno Bentivogli and Paola Vecchi Galli which contain also musical texts.
