Jack,
I hope you'll reconsider your recommendation... I know its always a bit
problematic to be on the bleeding edge, but this seems a perfect
opportunity to lead. There is not a huge installed base of metatags out
there now, and establishing a best practice based on the attributes we
worked so hard to get into the spec
seems to me the best approach.
Is there any evidence that these tags will actually break existing
software (the editor problem comes to mind... hmmmm... anyone know if
that that is still a problem?
In anycase, HTML 4.0 was voted on by the members of W3C, and that means
there is a stick to beat them with if their software does not conform.
