I am delighted to announce that the 'UK Public Transport Information'
website (PTI) has now received accreditation by the Chartered Institute of
Transport UK. This follows the recent official launch of the site by
Glenda Jackson MP, Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State, DETR.
PTI can be found at http://www.pti.org.uk and has been developed by
transport publishers FWT from a concept created by consultants Austin
Analytics. The site provides both national and local levels of
information, and uses a map-based navigation system to provide access to
all websites providing reliable information on UK public transport
services (rail, air, bus, coach and ferry). Launching the site at the
opening of the INFORM (Public Transport Information User Group) conference
in Winchester, the Minister said "I congratulate FWT and Austin Analytics
on their success. This marks a first step in delivering the Government's
objective of nationwide access to public transport information".
All comments on the site are gratefully received, and can be E-mailed to
