POSTDOCTORAL FELLOWSHIP IN TAIWAN
Two postdoctoral positions starting January 1999 are open at the Department of Chemistry, National Tsing Hua University, Hsinchu, TAIWAN. Possible projects include
(1) application of the two-color resonant four-wave mixing technique to investigate predissociative states of free radicals that are important in atmospheric or combustion chemistry. Please refer to J. Chem. Phys. v.109, 3824 (1998) and Chem. Phys. Lett. v.297, 300 (1998), and
(2) application of step-scan time-resolved Fourier-transform spectroscopy to gas phase absorption of transient species. This is a new technique, but one may refer to J. Chem. Phys. v.103, 4879 (1995) and v.107, 6499 (1997) for related articles with applications to dynamics and kinetics.
The appointment is renewable yearly with a salary about US$23K plus free housing. Applicant should send their c.v. and arrange 2-3 letters of recommendation to Prof. Yuan-Pern Lee, Department of Chemistry, National Tsing Hua University, TAIWAN 30043.
