Scientific Program: Chemometrics V will deal with
A) Analytical Chemometrics
- computer based analytical chemistry (COBAC)
- analytical and statistical methods of quality control,
- multivariable calibration, PCA, PLS,
- non-linear regression and parameter optimisation,
- analysis of variance and residuals,
- pattern recognition,
B) Physico-organic Chemometrics
- correlation analysis in chemistry (CAIC),
- quantitative structure-activity relationships (QSAR),
- experimental design and syntheses optimisation,
- statistical methods in kinetics and thermodynamics,
- phase equilibria.
This Conference is intended to be a successor of CHEMOMETRICS II (1990),
III (1993), and IV (1996) conferences which became a forum for
information exchange between chemometricians involved in
application of statistics in various branches of chemistry. Contributions
will be presented as plenary lectures, oral communications, and posters.
The following scientists have already promised to attend the
conference and to present an invited lecture:
T.Davies:Fourier and Wavelet Transformation for the NIR Data Compression.
A.R.Katritzky: Quantitative Structure Property Relationship Using CODESSA.
H.Kubinyi: Chemometrics and Drug Design.
J.Mocák: Multivariable Analysis of Natural Products.
P.A.Nadar: Substituent Effects in Naphthalene and Biphenyl Systems.
M.Otto: Nonlinear Dynamics and Chaos in Analytical Chemistry.
W.Wegscheider: Multivariate Control of Chemical and Biological Processes.
M.Wiese: Comparative Molecular Field Analysis of Modulators of Cancer
Multidrug Resistance.
Other distinguished scientists have been contacted: G.Crisponi, J.P.Doucet,
O.Exner, R.Franke, G.F.J.Montelongo, A Rojas, R.Tauler, K.Varmuza.
Chemometrics related books and journals will be exhibited and some
professional software and computer-aided education in chemistry will
be demonstrated during the conference (software workshop),
Students involved in chemometrics research will be admitted without
registration fee. The conference language will be English.
Conference fee not including accomodation and meals will be about 250 $.
Preliminary registration form and all correspondence should be addressed to:
