To all,
This debate is interesting. Is the question not so much of professionalism
but of competency? While many podiatrists may be professional in their
"appearance", many are not competent. Are the colleges of podiatric
medicine being professional when they admit and then graduate students who
are not competent? Does the professionalism of the schools come under
scrutiny as an economic & ethical dilemma--ie.) admit students to pay the
salaries and bills??
We may be a profession of foot and ankle experts but are the schools and
educators professional at the time of admission and graduation of future
podiatrists??
Does the end justify the means?!?
Your thoughts,
HB
