Regarding limiting / restricting attachments
Depending upon the software being used for the mail server the file size of
attachments can be limited by changing some settings, the problem is that
the same mail server runs many lists in mailbase some of which may allow
attachments. Therefore the request to limit size might not be able to be
implemented, since it may result in limitations on other mailbase
discussion groups. One way around this problem is easily solved if your
mail server is UNIX based. You will have to ask your ISP about this. If it
is unix based you can telnet to the mail server, look at the mail while on
the server using the PINE program and delete any messages and/or
attachments before they are sent to you. This is good for all email not
just mailbase stuff. For details on this contact your ISP. Hope I didn't
get too technical. But in my opinion the best method is for people to
follow the rules.. please.
I would like to wish everybody a HAPPY CHANUKAH, MERRY CHRISTMAS, HAPPY NEW
YEAR, or whatever else may be appropriate.
