Is there a formal term to describe atrophy of the fatty fibro padding

TIA
Cameron

"Consciously, we are aware that the foot serves invaluable functional
use in ambulation and stability; without it, normal movement would be
impossible. Yet, the foot's purpose stays in the closet, and we
continue to either scotomatize its existence or denigrate it with
jokes or hostile expressions."
