The Sixth Annual Conference of the Society for Reformation Studies
will be held at Westminster College, Cambridge, UK, on 7-9 April 1999. The
special theme for the forthcoming Conference is 'The Reformation era and
Christian worship'.
As well as its special theme each year, the Society encourages all
attenders to offer papers in their chosen area of interest. Research
students are particularly invited to share the results of their work with
members. The Society is keen to promote Reformation and Renaissance
scholarship in all its aspects - theology, spirituality and related
disciplines.
This e-mail constitutes a call for papers for the Conference. Anyone
interested in giving a paper should submit to the Secretary, Dr Paul
Ayris, an abstract of not more than 200 words to the e-mail address
[log in to unmask] Anyone interested in attending the Conference, but who
does not wish to give a paper, is similarly invited to e-mail the
Secretary for further information.
The Society is also intending to sponsor a journal called
'Reformation & Renaissance Review', to be published in 1999 by Sheffield
Academic Press.
The Society has now mounted a website to advertise its work and to
act as a focus for all Society members working in the field of Reformation
and Renaissance Studies. The URL is http://www.ucl.ac.uk/~ucylpay/
The cost of full board at Westminster College for Society members
will be in the region of 35 pounds sterling per person per day.
Non-members will pay an additional fee of 30 pounds sterling on top of all
Conference costs. Personal membership of the Society is 5 pounds sterling
per annum.
