Related to my enquiry above, one can only speculate to what extent the
early "nuances" continued to be performed after pitch-readable
notations came into general use. However, I was really thinking about
the nuance-rich manuscripts which don't seem to suggest any difference
of perfomance practice between Holy Week and any other season.
The only assumption I'm making is that "celeriter" means "quickly"!
