Subject: encyclopaedia in Judaeo-Spanish
Perhaps someone has a clue concerning the following text; the brief
description which follows was written by my colleague Benjamin Richler,
Director of the Instititue of Microfilmed Hebrew Manuscripts.
In cataloguing the Hebrew MSS of the Biblioteca Palatina in Parma I came
across a Spanish MS written in Hebrew characters, which I am trying to
identify.
The incipit (or title) of the work is, transliterated from the Hebrew
script, Vision Delectable. The work is a short encyclopedia of around 100
folios, consisting of chapters on Grammatica, Logica, Rhetorica,
Arithmetica, Geometria, Musica, Philosophia, Metaphysica, Philosophia
Naturale and Philosophia Morale.
The treatise seems to be divided into "days", that is chapter 1
corresponds to "day 1" and so on. It may have been composed in Spanish
but may also be a translation from Latin or other languages.
Any ideas or leads would be appreciated.
Thanks.
Tzvi Langermann
