New European Business Librarian of the Year Award announced
A new annual award in the information profession - the European Business
Librarian of the Year Award - has been announced. Sponsored by Information
Access Company (IAC), producers of a range of business databases including
General BusinessFile and European Business ASAP, this award will be open to all
UK and European business librarians currently working in the academic and
public arenas, and will recognise excellence and innovation within the
profession. The arrangements for this prestigious award have been co-ordinated
with the European Business Schools Librarians Group and the British Business
Schools Librarians Group, although it is not necessary to be a member of these
groups to be nominated.
The closing date for nominations is 30 October 1998 and the winner will be
announced at the Online Information 98 meeting in London in December, where the
official presentation of the award will be made. The winner will be chosen by
an independent selection committee, chaired by Allan Foster, Library Director
at Keele University. Nomination forms are available from the Chair or from
Information Access Company at the addresses below. Forms can also be requested
and returned via email to: a.j. [log in to unmask]
